Hi, There are quite a few members in the Lincolnshire area and several of them have 8 or 10 models.A good way to meet them personally is at events or make individual contact through the Club. This can be done through the monthly Standard Review magazine. The forum is a good way to chat about ideas and needs but for the individual contact the Club is the answer. Regards Ian.

As someone who was in a similar 'low knowledge of the mark' position as yourself a couple of years ago, I can totally recommend joining the club for the amazing banter, support and library of astonishing information.
The members have provided solutions, parts, contacts & advice continually. Without their assistance I'd never have got as far as I have with Bertie.
Must try to actually meet them some time!!! Seems like every time there's a trip opportunity the family have me doing something else!!!

I have on a couple of occasions driven up to Lincoln for the bus running day in my Vanguard, which is a long way but achievable out and back in a day. The museum has a Flying 12 in its collection and I've seen an Ensign there. Sadly I won't make the event this November as it clashes. Peter Lockley

You must realise that only a small percentage of SMC members are active participants of this forum .
How about attending the NEC Birmingham Classic car Show in November details are on the SMC website. The club has a stand ?

You must realise that only a small percentage of SMC members are active participants of this forum . /quote] Very true, and a huge pity. Forums like this are the fastest and in my opinion, the best way of sharing information and knowledge. Fewer people have time to actively participate in traditional club events than they might have had twenty or thirty years ago. Unless club members embrace new and different ways of communicating with others and bringing new people on board, then the average age of club members will continue to increase year on year. I'm a member of a number of car clubs, generally the only thing I look at is the forum where I get information, opinion etc and help others learn by sharing my own experience through words and pictures.

Quite a few of the Anglia Run regulars are in or around Lincolnshire, including a couple of 8/10 owners. My car lives in north Leicestershire which is not too far away but as I work and live in/near London I don't get to use it very often at the moment! But drop the club's registrar a note with your membership application (or join online and find his details in the magazine) and I'm sure you'll get to meet some local members. Maybe even him!
