Hi everyone
Just thought I'd place an early note to advise that I'll be putting out the application forms for the 2ND Worcestershire County Boundary Classic Car Tour in January 2017. The tour will be set for Saturday 8th of April 2017 in an effort to not clash with other events that are likely to start around the same time. This is as close as I can get to a full moon. No, I'm not a vampire nor a werwolf! In the 35 odd years I've been planning expeditions the full moon has very often coincided with settled weather. Its not a total guarantee but it at least gives us a fighting chance, I think. Haha! others may disagree but as its me thats organising it thats what I do. ;-)
The Tour is an open event which in 2016 attracted around 12 different motor clubs and 23 cars started from Iverley nr Stourbridge West Midlands (DY10 3NX) with 22 completing the 150 mile route around the edge of Worcestershire. Sadly there was only myself in Bertie and Diane Ferris' Pennant from the SMC there. Hopefully in 2017 more will consider entering.
The start is at 9am and most cars arrive back at the starting point between 3:45 and 5:30 pm having naturally spread out during the day.
There will be an entry fee to cover some of the costs of the day. Those who took part last year felt it was very little for a great day out.
let me know if you are interested
All the very best and Smilalot

I've just released the entry forms for this event folks. Those who came last year have been emailed. If anyone else would like to come along please let me know by PM and I'll send the info to you.
Meanwhile the invitation looks a bit like this......
Next year the Worcestershire County Boundary Classics Tour has been planned for 8th April 2017, but without that long dual carriageway run in the second half. Although, it has not been possible to plan the route without some dual carriageways at all. Also I have simplified the bit through the north of the county after Wythall.
The route has the same planned rest points as last year, so those who took part in the 2016 event will be aware you need sufficient pennies to have a cuppa and slice of cake along the way. Alternatively, you could always bring a picnic basket !
Starting and finishing at The Old Wagon & Horses, Ismere worked well last year, so this too has been maintained.
Meeting from 8am to have an 8:30 briefing over a bacon sandwich (coffee and tea area available at 50p, this goes to charity), we start our engines at 9am with an orderly drive off along the approximately 150 mile route. Hopefully we will be well spaced to avoid initial congestion of the narrow lanes. Again we estimate to be all completed by 6pm.
Attached is the poster and entry form. Could you share it with your clubs and contacts asking for only classics to be included (for the avoidance of doubt they will be vehicles over 20yrs old). Note I have not said “cars”. I have no idea of numbers yet so should they rise excessively I may need to close the entries early to keep them manageable
If you could have the registration forms back to me by end of February this will help me get the necessary administration completed in time for the event. email is preferred.
Hope you have a grand and fantastic New Year

Love the ad on the front page of the website promoting a drive It Day run. Looks a great day out. Good luck.
Pity the club cannot promote West Midlands activities in the same manner as other districts. I have planned and run several. Yet only one member has come along. And that one is coming back for more this year.
Probable not diplomatic as a comment. Even though it seems true. Mind you I do live on the dark side of the country and we eat strangers over here.

I know it's there Richard
However it is rather well hidden. I'm not getting at you Richard . It just seems that nobody from SMC ever comes to the west of The M5 but then there are rumblings because few folk turn up to their own arranged events. Initially I was told it was because nothing was ever planned here. Clearly that cannot be the reason because I have organised several activities which have all but been snubbed. Anyway. That's how it seems to Me. I sure others would have perfectly good excuses.
