I was wondering if you might be able to point me in the right direction. Although I have a key for my Standard Eight registration number LSK 777, I would like to get a spare cut. I have taken i t to my local guy but he recommended that I contact my specialist club as the blanks are seldom kept now by key cutters, as I understand it, they need a special type of blank... Any recommendations please Many thanks for your time Nigel Wills

Hi Nigel, does your key have a number stamped on it? If so you should be able to get a replacement by quoting that number to some of the many companies online who advertise replacement key services. If you don't have a number you may have to remove a lock cylinder from the drivers door or ignition switch to find the number.Good luck with it,and let us know how you get on .Regards,Peter

I got mine cut at Timpsons they never had ‘the blank’ but I told them it’s the same as a garage door key (my garage door key fits perfectly into he boot of my 10),they then looked through and found the key in the garage door section and cut it from there. Works perfectly .

If you get the key number from a lock cylinder, starting with something like FS or FP the keys, delivered, are about £3.50 each off ebay and the like.
Standard/Triumph sometimes used to engrave the key number on the front of the ignition key switch otherwise it should be stamped somewhere as Peter says.
