Great Weekend, we were there both days. Saturday was busier than Sunday but lots of interest in the cars.
Only disappointment was the road run, or lack of it. It seemed a waste to cone off the whole anticlockwise ringroad for 12 hours and then not use it for lack of marshals. I don't expect the council will be keen to legislate for it again, especially as the clockwise direction was gridlocked in places - which will do nothing to please the locals. In fact it will probably put them off classic car festivals in future.

Without seeing photo's it's difficult to believe any of this actually happened.....come on, get some pictures up. It sounds like a great event.

Its a shame you couldn't make it - but I will send a report and photos to the Webmaster for publication as soon as I can.

Hi Matt, For a first you did well. Hope there will be one next year. I may have missed it in the pre event advertising but was their a specific theme? I had assumed it was for mainly Coventry built vehicles but clearly there were a lot that were not so, but noticeable was the lack of Fords and Vauxhalls (there were small number), no Jowetts, hardly any Wolseley or Riley etc. Just wondered. Regards Ian.

Coventry Motofest was a great event.I have sent a feature and photos to Steve O'Hara for the Review. My big disappointment was the feature in Classic Car Weekly from the reading of which you'd have thought there were hardly any Coventry vehicles present.Six of their eight photos were vehicles with no Coventry connection at all. I have written a complaint letter to them and understand that I was not the only one to comment on their feature. Peter Lockley

There is a short review and photos of Standards at Motofest on the Club's website here: www.standardmotorclub.org/coventry-motofest-report.htmlA "Flying Standard" photographed outside the "Flying Standard" has also made the front cover of the "Standard Car Review", July 1st edition. Look out for it. Phil

Hi Ian, Motofest was open to any classic vehicles built/registered before 1994, but we would have liked as many coventry built stuff as possible on display. There are a number of things we must improve on for 2015. Many of those things we were aware of before the event but we were severely limited by a lack of funds and other issues we had to consider. Having met with the Council this week, they were very happy with the outcome. The city centre had over 50,000 people through it over the weekend and we handed out almost 15000 event guides. Whilst it was disappointing that we couldn't get more vehicles on the ring road, we were being very cautious - remember that the exercise was to test the concept of a live action display on aq closed off public road. we were limited by the stipulations in the motorsport licence granted to us, and of course the Council were watching closely. As one of a group of 8 petrolheads (all with full time jobs), we have tried to put on a free event that we would like to see ourselves, but holding an event like this is a working city rather than a privately owned field or race track does offer lots of challenges. If anybody as a rich uncle, please get in touch. Regards Matt
