I just had a very quick look on the owners club website, couldn’t see anything which would answer your question.

Thanks, I looked too and coudnt find answer. Had a Standard SLO4 some years ago, but never thought to find out what it meant. Good question for a car inspired quiz night!

According to Phil Homer's book "Cars of the Standard Motor Company", which I think is available from the webshop , SLO stands for Model S, Long stroke, Overhead valves. The book could be a late Xmas present to yourself!!

And the "4" means it has a 4 speed gearbox as compared to the earlier SLO which had just three. Good luck with your purchase, it would be good to have another SLO in the Club.
