Just a word of warning to anybody considering buying any equipment from Dirty Pro Tools. I recently paid them £42.99 for an engine stand ,which according to their ad included delivery.Four days later they asked for an addition £15 delivery charge to Northern Ireland.I contacted the company and pointed out that nowhere on the ad did they state that no deliveries to NI are free, but that they did state that NEXT DAY delivery would incur an additional charge.I had not requested next day delivery when I placed the order but they insisted on imposing the £15 charge which I refused to pay,so they refunded my payment. This is in my opinion disgraceful business practice by this company, and they don't deserve custom when they try to fleece customers after the purchase has been made and they have received payment.

Interesting. I expected the post to end with something like .......won’t refund my money - or something similar, and it’s great to be able to alert forum members about companies who do not deliver ( pardon the intended pun) service they claim, but equally it’s important that that the facts are clearly stated. I just had a look at their website, and yes it does say ‘Free delivery’ on the website heading, but as you move to checkout, it clearly states ‘ Delivery to be calculated at checkout’ - after you input your name and delivery address. Also under ‘Shipping’ it clearly states free delivery to U.K. Mainland only. Of course, they may have amended their website since this issue, but at least it’s clear enough now to allow anyone to buy from them and know what the delivery cost (if any) is going to be. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. I do not have any connection with this company.

I've purchased a couple of items from this company. I'm afraid that the stuff is pretty shoddy Chinese gear. I bought a bench grinder a few months back and it was so poorly constructed that it wasn't possible to fit the eye guards because the pre-drilled holes were in the wrong place. I sent it back and got a refund but they only partly refunded the cost of return. I even had a whinging note from one of their directors about the cost of return! I certainly wouldn't rush to buy anything from them again.

Hi Magnet, the company changed their shipping rules AFTER I contacted them,I even sent them a screenshot of their shipping arrangements taken at the time I placed the order, but they ignored it and refused to honour my order.Their loss not mine as I went ahead and built my own engine stand, and it seems from other replies on this forum my miss was my mercy, thank goodness.

I strongly suspect that additional shipping costs to NI are a consequence of the Brexit arrangements. They’ve placed significant additional burdens on any business shipping into GB from the EU or from GB to the EU. The deal that’s been done effectively treats NI as part of the EU.
It would have been preferable that the supplier had got their website updated to reflect one of the early consequences of the end of the transition arrangements to leave the EU, but I guess they can be forgiven if they believed all the promises that were made about delivering the ‘easiest free trade deal in the world’.
Given this forum has a section dedicated to sharing thoughts about the EU, I’m surprised nobody’s picked up on that point.

Yes,it seems Boris and company decided to throw the people of Northern Ireland to the wolves in order to achieve their goal, regardless of the consequences. We are now no longer a part of GB ,but instead are subject to an EU government regime, subject to any future EU regulations, but without any political representation in Europe.I guess you could say we have been well and truly shafted by the Conservatives, all the more painful when you consider the majority of people in NI voted remain.
