I'm looking for a 1958-1960 Standard 10 or Triumph 10 Estate. Prefer a driver that has been well-kept. I'm located in the USA. Walt Fogle: LBC4me@hotmail.com.

Hi Walt. Have found just the car for you. A Standard 10 Companion in very good running order ,well looked after for several years by a Club Member and now for sale as he has bought a larger Standard Vanguard. At present his computer is out of action so we will need to talk through the Club Pages. The car is Blue and the price is £2000 (approx $3500) and is one of the best in the UK. There are not many of these models worldwide anyway. If this is of interest please reply through this website initially. Regards Ian Leggett SMC

I just sent in my membership application and applied to join the messageboard and am pleased to say I own a 1958 Estate Wagon (sorry, Walt, not for sale). I'm in California- when you get your car, we'll have to start our own rally--there are so few of us over here--mine is the first Estate Wagon/Companion my very seasoned mechanic has ever seen in person! Boy, do the crowds gather when I show-up at a Triumph Club meet. Phil-- pictures are on the way... Colleen cmanzer@cox.net

Hi Colleen. Good to get your comments on the web site. Have you got any interesting stories to tell us regarding your car. When you receive your first Standard Review you will see that we welcome photos and articles from members and would be pleased to hear from the USA. Best Wishes Ian Leggett.

I'm trying to make this happen. Fuel prices have driven up transportation costs considerably! Will keep you all posted. Walt Fogle

Ian,
Don't forget that a US gallon is 3.785 litres, whereas our imperial gallon is 4.546 litres. Therefore Walt will only get 40mpg, sorry!
Phil

Things are progressing nicely. The Standard Companion should be on a boat to the U.S. Pacific Northwest via the Panama Canal within a week!

To Rich and Colleen: (and any other members!) You must consider driving (or transporting) your Estates to the All Triumph Drive In to be held in McMinnville, Oregon next August 2006. This annual meet is hosted by either the Oregon, Washington state , or the British Columbia Triumph clubs. With my Standard Companion on the way we'll definitely make a statement! I've also just joined the Standard Motor Club. Hope to hear more from both of you. Walt Fogle

Hi to all Standard owners in the USA on this forum. If you require Instruction books (Maintenance) or workshop type books by various authors Cassell/Odhams/Olyslager I can supply. The Olyslager is particularly good. If you have seen the new member incentive section there is a free 90 page book awaiting as soon as membership is confirmed. You will need to ask me for this when you have your membership number. (Will have to add USA postage though) As a member there are 12 issues of the Standard Review magagine per year with lots of news/spares/reports and we would love to hear of your exploits in the USA. I have been talking to a new Vanguard 2 owner is the USA tonight but not sure which state, but he may be a candidate for your meeting up. Ot is all looking good on the Standard USA front. Regards Ian
