We are almost there.... The Standard Motor Club will be at the Classic Motor Show at the NEC on all three days. By far the biggest indoor show of the year. Come and visit us on our stand, Hall 4, stand 218, and see the surprise exhibit from Australia. Bring your ticket stubs (don't let the door staff take them off you) or copies of the electronic tickets and join us for complimentary coffee and biscuits. Tell your Standard friends. A number of Club volunteers will be available each day. We look forward to meeting you all there. Phil More info here: www.necclassicmotorshow.com/

To run a three day show requires a great deal of effort and resource.
The following volunteers, at least, were involved in the set up of the stand on Thursday, breakdown on Sunday and for manning it on the three days Steve O'Hara (lead organiser) John Huckle Alan Huckle Ed Curnow Steve Smeltzer Peter Lockley Phil Homer Lynda Homer Norman Smith Paul Dowson Darrell Cunningham Peter Foster Robin Wilson My apologies to anyone I have missed.
A number of new members were recruited over the weekend and a further number renewed their subscriptions.
On Sunday, Club Chairman, Peter Lockley awarded the "Chairman's Cup" to John Huckle, for his services to the Club. Well done, John!

Could I echo the Webmaster's comments on the Classic Motor Show and thank Steve O'Hara for being the main stand organiser and everyone who assisted ,particularly those who spent all three days on the stand, which is a pretty gruelling task and those who provided the three superb vehicles that were on display,Paul Dowson ,Robin Wilson and especially John Huckle, whose pick up was undoubtedly the main attraction. It is probably harder to half restore a vehicle than to fully restore it ! Could I also thank all the members who came to see us and support the Club. We have already submitted our entry for 2016 and I know that Steve O'Hara has interesting plans in mind. One motoring journalist remarked that our stand and the adjoining stand of our cars' close relation the Swallow Doretti were two of the most interesting in the Show. The Dorettis, who at one stage had not been granted a stand and were only in the reserve category, won the prize for best themed Club stand. It's a pity we didn't win anything but I'm sure we came close and hopefully we created some good publicity for the Club and the marque. Once again thanks to Steve O'Hara and everyone involved with the Club's participation in the Show. Peter Lockley
