Now that London has lost its Classic Car Show, the only remaining prestige show is at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. That is a great shame. Over the years London has has Earls Court, Wembley, Olympia and Alexandra Palace. The latter was a tremendous show until new operators of the show messed it up for profit motives. Now we have a good operator, the London Emission Zone (LEZ) has put paid to that. As most autojumblers run vehicles which do not meet the strict emissions rules and auto jumble is the key to a good show, and the traders payments help make the show break even or make a small profit. While Birmingham is a vast display area, it is still a stark building with no character, very expensive (as are all monopolies) and does make a Club stand of any size a real commitment over the four days. Would you like to see a London show back again? Are you interested in the indoor shows? What are your views? Regards Ian.
