That is the way to do it, your own mini convoy. As you are arriving on Friday we have a boat trip lined up for you into Cambridge and then a riverside drink and or meal. Also you can learn the meaning of that well known saying "Hobsons Choice", and if you are really keen you can learn the meaning of "getting a feel for it". (Unless you know already of course). We will take you on a short drive to pass the Cambridge University Colleges, a Victorian Chimney worked on by Fred Dibnall, followed by the boat trip. Regards Ian.

Hello. If any of your 'Gatwick Convoy' wish to avoid the M25/M11 -you can always take the A10 road from the Enfield area of North london, which will if you stick to it all the way take you eventually to the rally site, with no other road number to look for. You would of-course have to go through the middle of Cambridge from the A10 from Harston. However, you can go round the ring road, after crossing the M11 you pass a park and ride site on the left, and traffic lights at a junction. About 3/4 of a mile furter there is more lights, where you can turn right into 'Long Road' - which is part of the 'ring road' system. Straight on past the crossroads/lights (about a mile) to the next R.A.B. t/left signed 'Ring road' (Speed cameras on this road) and airport. Follow it all the way about 2 miles (past Sainsburys - and under the bridge) to a R.A.B at Newmarket Road (where there is a 'Macdonalds' opposite). T/Right, into left lane, and turn left at the lights and keep on this road all the way to Waterbeach (passing through Horningsea), where you can go right through (MY VILLAGE) the village to rejoin the A10 just a couple of miles from the rally site. (Caution crossing the A10 it is a busy road). The alternative is to by-pass most of Cambridge, by turning left off the A10 after Harston (J11) onto the the M11, for a short distance to (J13), and turn off there going right at the lights, and virtually follow the ELY signs all the way to the A10 and the rally site. You can ring me at the office on 01223-248557 during the day time, or 01223 441640 evenings etc. if you need to ask anything about getting here. I live closest to the site, so know this area very well. Cambridge City is the only big city you will encounter from the M25 at Enfield if you use this route. The A10 route offers opportunities to stop and pubs etc for stopsand refreahments which the M ways of course don't. Good luck see you at the rally. Tina ;D ;D

Hi, Thanks for the directions, all we need to do now is find a route to enfield without using the M25 or going through london! Oh Dear!Looking forward to the rally, our 14 is still at the trimmers so we will be burning the midnight oil to have it ready. We need to thank Brian Parkes for helping out with last minute urgent parts.I wish everyone was as reliable and helpful.Hope it stops raining soon! David and Lynn.

;D ;D UMMM - OOOHHH dear. That's an awkward one!! If you put wings on them and make them "FLYING STANDARDS" you might be able to leap over, or bypass that 'Londinium' place, but there is not really many options, apart from a very long trip westward to clear the area first ( or go the long way east via Dartford Crossing). OR you could call the AA or RAC etc and ask them to put it on a truck and transport it here, and you wouldn't have to drive through that patch of country that is overgrown with bricks and covered in traffic. ;D ;D Tina

Hi Phil, When you approach Cambridge on the A10 follow Tina's comments and avoid going through Cambridge. Best to use the M11 for about 5 miles, then onto A14 towards Felixtowe for 2 junctions and left onto A10. Cambridge is a very unfriendly place for cars during the daytime. Regards Ian.
