Just a reminder that MAY 24th is STANDARD TRIUMPH DAY this year. This has moved around the country, but this year it is in ANGLIA, so come on all Anglians let us see a bumper crop of Standards. Easy to get to from A11 or M11 if you are brave, A10,A14,A505,A12. Duxford has a vast display of aircraft, and themed displays including a Beaverette. There will be over 1,000 Triumphs (perhaps 1,001 as I shall be in the Acclaim while the Vanguard is repainted). Would be nice to see 50 Standards, COME ON YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE, spread the word around. Regards Ian.

The Standard Triumph Marque Day approaches next Sunday at Duxford, one of the most important events in the Standard calendar. Duxford is a branch of the Imperial War Museum and has had millions spent on it in recent years improving and extending their displays. This a full day out for the whole family.
If you go on a normal day entrance would be 16 pounds per person. On this special day, when up to 1000 Standards and Triumphs are expected, you enter the event and see the whole of the museum for just 9.95 Pounds each, and anyone under 16 is completely free.
Don't miss this opportunity to see one of the coutry's premier museums at a bargain price All the Standards arriving will be parked together so come along to meet your fellow members.

Hi Phil. Although I am one of the club members who live nearest to Duxford and would love to get there with one of my cars, it looks increasingly unlikely I will make it as things stand. Some weeks ago I seriously hurt my back and have been in agony since. Although my Pennant "Penny the Pennant" is road legal, I have not been able to finish tidying up the front wings for showing, and have so far missed all our local shows this year. The engine, clutch, box and exhaust have all been "done" this last year. I still need to replace the front wings and front panel, which I have now found spare ones for, ( all 3 wings need working on- the panel is new), but have not had time, or now the health to get on with it. I am improving slowly, and hopefull will give it a go this week to see if I can get it ready for next weekend. But walking any distance right now is quite a painful chore. Tina

OK Tina,
Hope the back gets better soon and you can make it to Duxford or the Intenational. Too much lifting of Standard engines and gearboxes no doubt!
Phil
