Can anyone help with Insurance? Just got my Teignmouth back on the road and have to insure it. Who is offering the best deal? I have made half a dozen calls to the so called classic Insurers and they range from the ridculous to 'what is a 1929 Standard 9'. Totally confused!!!!!!!

My Kenilworth and my wife's Austin Seven are both insured with Richardson Hosken, they seem very reasonable providing you are a member of a recognised car club. If you are interested their phone number is 01277 206911.

Thanks for the assistance. Called RH and they were extremely helpful plus they offered the best quote. They even knew what a Standard Teignmouth is! Total cost fully comp including breakdown cover and with my 25 yr old son on the policy was £87.15 with £100 excess, they even cover any spares that are kept in the garage. A few jobs to do over winter and 'Henrietta' will be ready for the Spring season - no excuses this year for not going to the National Rally as it is only 2 miles away.

Thanks Colin for reply. Just out of curiosity what prices were you quoted with others WHO DID recognise a Teignmouth. Regards Ian

Footman James were the most expensive at approx £130, Pete Best were pretty good at approx £96. I did try a couple of others but they were a waste of time. Regards Colin

The insurance on my Vignale Vanguard has just come up for renewal and after getting a quote from my exisiting insurer of £195 (yes, one hundred and ninety five pounds) I tried RH. Their quote was £63. You can probably guess who I went for. Thanks for the advice, Alan

YEEK Alan. £195! They must have been joking. My V3 has been fully comp with recovery all for £64 a year, for years with Peter Best insurance/Eclesiastical. It just proves it pays to shop around. Tina
