Hi, Although I own a 58 / 59 Pennant (Penny the Pennant), the workshop manual I have got for it through the club some time ago is an 8s manual with 10s suppliment section at the back. It is also an early edition about 1955/6 or so. Therefor there is very little in it relating to the later Pennant model. My one is in good condition. Has anyone out there got a late 10/Pennant W/M that they now have no use for that you would be willing to straight swap for my 8/10 one? I may be going to the AGM in April, and do intend getting to the National at Stratford in July, so if any one has a book and is going to either we could swap them there. If anyone has one to spare reply here as I look in most days of the week. Regards Tina, (cambridge area)

Well not really - as it is the only workshop manual I have for it. If you look in e-bay at the moment there is manuals on sale there - just now. [ Look up, Home-classic car parts - type in Standard, and it will come up.] Ian Leggett does often have manuals for sale through the club, at very reasonable prices, but unfortunately at present has his home P/C out of action, (as is mine). His phone number is in the club magazine, under the 'Regalia Officer'. He has handbooks and wiring diagrams and lubrication charts too. When looking for workshop mnuals, the 8/10 cars are virtually identical to the later cars mechanically, it's mainly in trim and body details that differ. General maintenance and repairs are virtually identical, so almost any manual from that era will give you virtually all the clues you need. Once you have owned one for a while you will hardly ever need to refer to the manual as having done the jobs before you just do it automatically. And if you do get a bit stuck you can always ask for advice on this excellent forum - and someone will tell you how to fix it. Tina

Hi, There are a few manuals including supliments for all these models in e bay at the moment. Look under -home,classic car spares, then type in Standard- in the search bar, and click search and all current Standard spares will come up. I saw them there yesterday. Tina P.S. Ian leggett is back on line again today so give him a try as he either has some in stock most of the time or can get one for you asap. Tina

Hi all. Being the club archivist for 8's & 10's I've got copies of most publications relating to these cars. I have not got a Pennant workshop manual, so I would assume that one wasn't specifically made for the Pennant. The soft back manual referred to is an Australian manualby Scientific Publications in collaboration with Standard Motor Co (Australia) & is basically a soft back copy of the English manual. There was a later official manual produced (on the cover it states "A Member of the Leyland Motor Corporation" but there is no specific reference to the Pennant, but it does include sections on Standrive & the Companion bodywork (but not the Pennant front details). Hope this helps. Pete.
