Over recent months several Standard cars have found homes in East Anglia. A Vanguard has just hit the road after a 20 year layup in Manningtree and another in Ipswich is about to return to the road after a similar time off road. A Standard 8 is in Bury St Edmunds and a Flying 10 in Thetford. It looks as though Thetford will see another car, 1935 10 this week and a 1957 10 should arrive in Sudbury. Recent cars include a Big 9 in Lowestoft and a Flying 8 Tourer in Southwold area. There are others in Norfolk and Suffolk and Cambs who may benefit from contact with other owners on a face to face basis occasionally. It is with this in mind that this "feeler"is put out. If there is enough response then we could have a get together. I know that being as far East as we are it can be felt that we are left out of the main Club activities and some owners have lapsed membership because of that. I know however that by joining in Club activities can be very rewarding and when help is required it has always been there. That in turn enables me to pass on my experiences to others. So register your interest and tell other Standard owners you know who are not in the Club, and we will see how it materialises. We could have an Eastern region group yet. Regards Ian Leggett.

I am interested Ian, but I find as with other clubs being the "ODD ONE OUT", ie, single when one joins in groups, I find myself sitting on the fringe, I get nearly completely ignored by the others who are inevetably in couples (pairs). It does sometimes feel that being single in a mainly couples club, is a bit like having a nasty 'social disease' at times, which is really why I have not been on the Anglia Run for a while. Even hotels penalise people for being single, and living on a pension every penny counts now. What do you think? Tina
