I have just purchased a 1953 Standard Vanguard Phase 2.
It was originally sold in Great Britain and still has the original British plates "OKF 3" in addition to the Plates issued here in the States.
I am planning a trip to Great Britain next summer, and I'm thinking of bringing either my TR3 or this car.
Would I run into problems with the original plates on this car?
It will also have 1953 California plates.

You should use your (legal) American Plates (tags) If you use OKF 3 the position will be this: If OKF 3 is on our registration computer you will be driving illegally as you havn't paid UK road tax, neither presumably have you declared SORN (Statutary Off Road Declaration) Our cars have to be registered even if they are not being used. If OKF 3 was exported before we had the computer you wont be on it and that is illegal too. Don't risk anything else - our police can check whether you are driving legally whilst they are following you, by the time they stop you they know who has registered the car, (or that it is illegal, as in your case) You can find out much more than you want to know at www.dvla.gov.uk/I do hope that you will join in some Club events next summer, they will all be listed on the Website, including the International Rally already listed in July www.standardmotorclub.org.uk/events/2006events/internationalinvite.htmWe look forward to meeting you!
