A great International Rally again. 6 hours each way with some minor problems on the car but we made it covering 600 miles in the weekend. Some from Scotland covered over 700 miles and Michel from France probably 1500. But where were all those mods, subs again, only 2 on display. Besides the Annual meet up and a chance to meet old friends it really makes the Club theme work when others are so helpful. With battery and voltage regulator problems I was reliant on jump starts, battery charge ups and some spare parts, and they were all forthcoming. I was able to assist someone with fan belt problems also so it was not all one way. Very well done to the Cheshire Group for their organisation and marshalling skills and some nice twists to the road run, including a bearskin warrior with Roman Pennant walking ahead as we paraded through the centre of Chester top the amazement of the locals. This is the ONE to attend each year.Make it a commitment for 2015 and be proud of your Standards. Regards Ian.

Glad to know everyone had a good time. Looking forward to next year if the event is being held in the Cotswolds, can generally do Birmingham in a day but anywhere beyond that will mean an overnight stop and an extra day off my holiday allowance. Roll on next year.

As announced at the Weekend, The 56th Standard International Rally will be on the Weekend of 19th/20th/21st June 2015, based on the Cheltenham Chase Hotel, which is nearer Gloucester than Cheltenham and centrally placed in the spectacular scenery of the Cotswolds. Please put it in your diary now. That's around the longest day of the year, so most helpful to anyone with a distance to travel. You will of course be able to come for all 3 days if you prefer.
I have to say that we will go where someone, or some group of people, are prepared to organise the event. That's how we got to the Wirral this year, and very enjoyable it was too. I covered 450 miles in a prewar Standard with no drama. A demonstration, if any were needed of the reliability of our cars.
If you have a suitable venue in your part of the world and you are prepared to lead on the organisation then we would love to hear from you and come to see you in 2016, or subsequent years. Usually no one rises to the challenge, but here it is again. Note that I said "Lead Organiser", you will also get as much support from the Club as you need to make it a success.
Phil

Wow another QHotel establishment, similar brand to our excellent stay at Stratford Manor Hotel, a few years ago.
Did like the Sunday event at last years SMC International though, in conjunction with another Classic Car show.

The Web master can only post what is sent to him. I as Publicity Officer have received NOTHING so cannot help. I was not there this year due to various circumstances. I am sure if members send him reports etc he will publish.
