Chiltern Roadrun – Sunday 21st September 2014
Dear Standard Owner, We hope that you will join us for an afternoon out with your friends in the Standard Motor Club. Each year, we organise a short road run for our cars. This year we will meet for lunch in the “Two Brewers” at Chipperfield, near Kings Langley from 12 noon for lunch. Promptly at 1.45pm we will move off for a short road run to Frogmore Paper Mill where there will be a guided tour and refreshments. Frogmore Paper Mill is the WORLD'S OLDEST mechanised paper mill - the birthplace of paper's Industrial Revolution. It is still a working paper mill and home to two 'fourdrinier' paper machines, both of which are well over 100 years old. The mill is now managed and operated by the Apsley Paper Trail charity, with the aim of keeping it open to the public for visits, learning and community use. Just think of the importance paper plays in our lives today, newsprint, novels, text books, magazines, etc....... The charity have asked us to let them know the numbers to be expected, so PLEASE advise us in advance if you intend to join us for this interesting afternoon's visit.
