For the benefit of readers to this Forum, the last time I went to an International Rally I had to brings genuine Cornish pasties up for Darrell - just to prove they are produced properly down here.

Many thanks to those club members who have entered the International Rally to date. This year we are in the Cotswolds, over the Summer Solstice weekend, 19,20,21 June 2015 based at Cheltenham Chase Hotel near Gloucester. The rally promises to be a great event. If you have mislaid the entry form which came with your magazine in December then you can enter through the Webshop here, or download and print a form from this link.
Over the weekend we have arranged a great range of attractions and visits as well as the usual Concours on the Sunday. Two new options which were not published on the entry form are a visit the Jet Age Museum at Staverton (free entry)on the Saturday and an option to visit Gloucester Quays by coach on the Sunday morning. There is fantastic shopping there, the Historic Docks and other attractions. This will appeal to those of you who wish to escape the car rally for a while! Thank you, Betty Parkes for volunteering to organise this.
If you have not been to a Standard international Rally before you will find it to be a friendly, non-competitive event. (Even though we do have prizes!)
It really is a great chance to meet new friends, catch up with people you meet a few times a year, swap tips, get advice and compare notes about our vehicles. You’ll travel through the rolling Cotswold hills on our road runs, a route book is provided. There’s a range of optional visits including to Toddington Narrow Gauge Railway, Adam Henson’s Farm, Jet Age Museum or the chance to just explore the area yourself. We’ll have a club Bring and Buy stall too for members to sell spare parts. Please bring your items for sale.
Volunteers to help are welcomed, it’s a great way to get involved and really feel part of the event, so please email me secretary@standardmotorclub.org.uk or phone 01727 868405 if you would like to step forward! We need more help with marshalling, laying out the field setting off cars on road runs or just being a willing pair of hands for an hour or so.

Lynda and I will be there in the 1956 Super 10 and the 1935 Avon Standard 10/12 Tourer. Its only about 100 miles each way for us. Looking forward to meeting lots of Standard owners. Just turn up on the day, no need to book in advance. Saturday is the roadrun, Sunday is the static rally. More info here: www.standardmotorclub.org.uk/int-rally-update.htmlPhil

Hope it's a good one folks. A combination of recent house move, demanding toddler and friend's wedding the week after mean that I can't go this year, unfortunately.

Just got back from a great day at the International, the weather was good and a great selection of lovely cars, and it was good to meet up with old and new friends. Richard

Thanks to all for another really enjoyable weekend - a great choice of hotel as well.
Special thanks to all who tried to help sort my Sportsman's "hiccup" problem on the field on Sunday - there is a huge wealth of experience in the club, and a great willingness to share it.
Unfortunately whilst the problem seemed less when we set out this morning, it gradually got worse on the way home. Fortunately we made it to the Oxford services (M40/A40) and then had to be trailered home by the AA. Certainly didn't spoil the weekend (we were only a couple of hours late getting home) and it's almost worth it to get the AA men's reactions to the car (eg: "I'm not qualified to work on one of those!" - but they certainly enjoy trying!).
Looking forward to next (hiccup-less) annual rally.
Mike

Hope everybody enjoyed this year as much as I did. Everything seemed to go well. It was very friendly and I liked the selection of cars . The hotel and Staff were exceptional.

A great weekend with a great crowd of people. A great big thank you to all the organisers who made everyone very welcome. Although Len Barr could not be there during the daytime, his routes for the road rund were concise and clearcut. A great road run Len. Had a great run home in the Flyer, all the way to Cornwall on one tank of fuel and I was not hanging about. All old-fashioned "A" roads and hood down 90% of the way! Roll on next year!

Made it back to Scotland after another great Standard Rally. I too had to finish the journey with the help of the AA! Dynamo failure on the M6 was fortunately close to a junction. "Wot's that?" to quote the call centre. The offending unit has been replaced and my car is back in action. Not really a breakdown as such since I drove on to the trailer but it would have been foolish to continue. It was a Lucas part that let me down rather than a Stanpart! Thanks to the organisers for all their hard work.

Thanks to everyone who supported this year's International Rally, always the biggest Standard gathering of the year and well worth attending even if your Standard is not on the road. It's a great place for answering the "where does that part go" or "what should it look like " type of questions. My workhorse Vanguard estate made it back without problems apart from mine of having to unload gazebo, flagpole, loudspeaker system, kite, banners etc.,etc. Let's hope next year's event is even better attended.
