I'd like to comment on the Vintage Standards that appear in the featured section.
I believe that the 16 would have left the Avon Coachworks with a boat tailed body (as the 9 only bigger) and has been changed at a later date, it should also have a V screen and not the flat type. The radiator shape suggests its a 1931 model unless the Avon Coachworks obtained the 1931 chassis in late 1930.
The 9 would have left the coachworks with wire wheels and a V screen. The wheel arches are not original neither it appears are the dash board or the steering wheel and the boat tail has been repaired, the original would be upswept slightly at the back edge. The exhaust should exit under the rear axle and not come through the side.
Just in case you were interested.

Yes we are interested Mark,
We are always interested in anything that makes the pages more accurate, which is why I always ask for comments. I don't profess to know much about Standards that I don't own. You seem to have some knowledge of Avon Standards. Would you care to tell us how, and give us more information or feature articles about your own?
Kind regards,
Phil

Hello Phil I know a little about the 9h Standard Avon Special no3 as I have a copy of a sales leaflet and a couple of articles about the original Jenson bodied car plus I have picked up the odd bit of information from owners and this site. Things like, all the 9h boat tailed specials had a centre throttle pedal.
TM8812 featured on the coachbuilders page is a fine example of a 1931 car as is the red car (1930).
I also know were there is a 1930 car that could be for sale only its missing its distinctive radiator. ( Recently stolen, the rad that is.)
