Hi Phil. Greetings from Australia. Have been to see a selection of engines and chassis today and wonder if you can identify or give additional info as I am going back to the owner later in week. He has loaned me a selection of books which may contain interesting archive material which he has offered to copy if we do not have already. Will list these books on next message. ENGINE NUMBER (6cylinder) 2650 CHASSIS 2644 ENGINE (4 cylinder)8423 ENGINE (4 )2082 CHASSIS 2076 ......... Series 1 ENGINE (4 )2182 STEERING COLUMN COMMISSION 2106 He believes a 9 or 12
All these vehicles are intended for restoration and some of the surplus items will be sold. All of them are believed date from 1909 to 1913 era.
I have videoed the items and have told Len Barr that Iwill be recording details.
Regards Ian.

You don't want much do you? You, sunning yourself, and I am here, half way across the world, expected to identify your scrap iron! I would probably do better with some photos please! Nevertheless I will see what I can do!!
Regards
Phil

The 6 cylinder chassis 2644, engine number 2650 is most probably a 23.6 H.P. model 6M of late 1912. The 4 cylinder engine 8423 I am afraid that I am unable to identify at the moment but I will endeavour to do some more research. The 4 cylinder engine 2082, chassis 2076 is a 11.6 H.P. model J of 1912 (Bore and stroke 68 x 114) The 4 cylinder engine 2181 and steering column commission number 2106 are also from a model J 11.6 H.P. of 1912. If the 6 cylinder engine and chassis are for sale then I might have a prospective buyer in mind - please let me know. I hope that this is of some help.

Hi Len. Thanks for reply. I shall be seeing owner tomorrow and will ask him regarding sale of 6 cylinder spares. He has loaned me a number of History of South Australia Cars from 1899 to 1931 books which I have found very interesting. Gives names of first owners and location. There are a number from 1906 to 1928. I have been offered copies of the pages. Would they be of interest to you. The books occasionally come up for sale and I WILL LOOK ON EBAY. AUS. Regards Ian.

Hi Leonard. I shot video footage of these engines and chassis and will let you have a copy when time permits. Paul Newsome and Phil Homer saw the master copy last Saturday. I have tried contacting the owner on email to no avail. Will re try or by post to see if he wants to sell the "six." Regards Ian Leggett.
