Hi Peter, Many thanks for the offer, but I cannot justify running to Cornwall to collect and return your car. I will try to find something closer to home. Again, thanks for your offer-you were one of very few to respond!! Kind regards,Steve

Hello Steve and other Standard Motor Club members, I hope that you all had a good Christmas. I have only just joined the Standard Forum, so this is a good opportunity for me to test it out. My name is Richard Bradley and I live in Stroud Gloucestershire. I am one of the volunteers for the 2008 Bristol Classic Car show at Shepton Mallet in February. Here is a photo of me with my 1955 Standard 10. Some club members may recognise me and the car from my appearances at the Malvern Classic car shows. I am looking forward to meeting you all at the Shepton Mallet show. Best regards, Richard

Hi Richard, What a lovely condition your car is in. Hope you have a good new year driving it and look forward to seeing it at the International Rally where it is sure to be amongst the best there. Keep logging in and put forward your views, suggestions and perhaps be able to help others with advice. Either way it is a good way to talk to other owners worldwide. Best wishes Ian.

Thanks Ian,
I feel very lucky to own this car and it's condition is entirely to the credit of it's previous owners. The car has never been re-sprayed, apart from one rear wing and the inside of the engine bay. The interior is original and is only spoiled by one cigarette burn on the driver's seat and a tear in one of the rear door cards. There is the odd scratch or two, but to me this is all part of the car's character. It has never been near a welder.
Hopefully I will be able to make it to the International Rally this year, which I believe is near to Stratford on Avon. This is within easy driving distance from my home in Stroud. It will be interesting for me to see how my car compares with other 8's and 10's on display. I'm sure that there will be some immaculate restored examples there, but I suspect that few will be in such original condition.
I look forward to meeting you there.
Best regards,
Richard Bradley
