A reminder to all those Standard orientated readers of this forum; the Devon and Cornwall Group of the Standard Motor Club are having a Sunday lunch on 13 January 2008 at the Royal Standard pub at Mary Tavy between Okehampton and Tavistock on the main Plymouth road. Nice to see your Standard there but not essential. Full details on the events page but phone Chris Bowden if you want to go (01392-664952). Not restricted to S.M.C. members but anyone interested in Standards will be made welcome and we will have plenty of opportunity to find out what the Devon and Cornwall members want us to organise in 2008. Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Kind regards, Brian Murrish

Don't forget that our Sunday lunch is at the Royal Standard pub at Mary Tavy, between Okehampton and Tavistock next Sunday 13 January. Very apt venue, don't you think? It is still not too late to book, just phone Chris Bowden on 01392-664952, tell him you are coming and pay for your meal on the day. This is not restricted to SMC members but anyone with an interest in Standards will be welcomed. There will be some Standards present but not mine unfortunately, if yours is on the road, bring it along, we will be pleased to see you. Failing that your company will still be appreciated in your modern. See you there?? Brian

Hi All I would just like like to say a big thank you to Brian Murrish and Chris Bowden for the work they did in arranging the the South West christmas dinner last week. It was a great success. As a new member of the club it was good to put faces to names, also a big thank you to those that helped make my other half and myself feel at ease (it made my life easier to). It sounds like it could be an annual meeting. More of the same at the Shepton Mallet show I hope. Alan

Hi to Devon and Cornwall Group. You are a good active group. Would one of you like to put regular reports into the Standard Review to show what can be done. Bear in mind 90% of members do not see this website so it is worth sending an email to the Editor BUT still keep topping up this Forum, we love hearing from you. Regards Ian

Hi Ian, When we do have an event, whether it be a display or a lunch gathering such as we have just enjoyed, I do try to put some form of garbled report onto this forum. I have also let Steve O'Hara have a similar but less garbled report for inclusion in the Review, but I gather because of print dates etc that this will not appear until the March issue. Kind regards, Brian

Good to hear from you Brian. Bear in mind the deadline for the Review is usually 15th of the month, so best to get it to Steve O'Hara by the 10th. Regards Ian.
