To help publicise this event I intend to publish the route I shall take from my home near the New Forest in Hampshire on Friday June 27th . I hope that even if members cant go they will cheer our convoy at various stages. I hope to lead in my 1939 Standard Flying Eight Tourer.see http://www.standardflyingeight.co.uk[/font]
Please try to come part way at least. Its over 100 miles for my little car.

It is over 100 miles for me to drive my 1939 Standard Flying Eight tourer but I believe in the National Event and it must be supported. So come on get your forms in and join me and other members at this great meet you will not be dissapointed. I am 61 and disabled and I have not won the lottery but I am still going. SO GO ON SIGN UP FOR THE NATIONAL NOW.

By now all members will have received their magazine for May. Inside was an extra item-An application form to come to the National in June. There is still time to fill it in and return it. Help make this year extra special and really show the nation that the name of Standard is NOT forgotten. SEE YOU THERE.

I recently heard a member say its too too far for his car to drive to the National. 75 miles in a Standard 10. Now come on! If I can drive my Flying 8 (1939) 110 miles to the National then so can many other members. After all there are members coming to the New Forest Group's Show on Aug 9th from the Midlands and beyond. The National is the Flag Ship of our Society and should be attended. SO SEE YOU THERE.........PLEASE
As a side comment...I am 61 my car is 69. I normally drive an Automatic as I find this easier being disabled. I cant walk far easily But fought back after a stroke and learned to walk again.
Come to the National and have a chat.
If I can make the effort.....So can many others.

Surely as members we should make every effort to attend our own clubs International Rally. I hope all members will show their respect of the hard work that Paul,Phil and Linda are putting into organising this on our behalf by at least turning out at Charlecote House. I have only organised small events myself and there is a suprising amount of work involved in them, so I can appreciate the workload the International Rally entails.
SO-IF YOU HAVEN'T ENTERED YET FILL IN THE FORM AND LETS MAKE IT A RALLY TO REMEMBER!! Steve

If my Flying 9 is back together I will be going to Charlecote (although I haven't booked in because of the problems) on the Friday from Cambridge so if anyone is interested in joining me I would be happy to meet them along the way. I was proposing to take the A428, A425. If the "9" is not ready for whatever reason I will be going in the euromobile on the same route on the Friday.

Hi. As with our Steve. I am hopeing to come to this years national rally, but, at the moment I have no Standards on the road - due to various maladies. Should one be ready in time I will do my best to be there (again). So, if I can get one going I could probably join up with Steve to make a small convoy from Cambridge, but like Steve, I also have not booked in anywhere due to not having a car ready. Those who came to last years rally will recal both Steve and me with yellow jackets and walkie talkies, directing traffic all weekend. Hope to see you all there. Tina, at Cambridge.
