The new owner has just joined the club. The Avon will be featured on the website in the next day or two, so look out for it there. The 1926 car appears to me to be a 2 seater "Coleshill" on the V3 chassis www.prewarcar.com/show_prewar_car.asp?car_id=13216Regards, Phil

£20,000 seems a lot for a 'bitsa' .

Just been told my old Avon Special HX 1069 has been featured on your club web site. I purchased this car in the mid 1980s in need of a complete restoration. and restored the car over the next 10 months A 12 HP engine and gearbox was fitted and the broken worm drive rear axle was replaced with a ENV Big 9 axle. I run the car for the next 18 years until I sold it in May 2005 to a Frenchman who drove it back to the south of France, trouble free , in 3 days. I still have a secound body less 1930 Avon, anyone know where I can get a body.(original or built) Andy Shepherd

Indeed I have added new pictures of this car from the new French owner to the already existing feature on this car. You can see it by clicking here www.standardmotorclub.org.uk/cars/coachbuilders/features/frenchavon.htmAndy, if you know any of the history of the car prior to your ownership or have any earlier photos, please post them here or send them to me webmaster@standardmotorclub.org.uk so I can add to the website The new owner seems to think that this was a personal car of one of the Jensen brothers? Thanks and regards, Phil
